Welcome to the new tennis season:
Thanks to all who attended the Clubs AGM, the Fun Quiz and the Awards
Presentation last November.
FUNDRAISING: Please remember all fund-raising is done to
financially help your Club.
Various fund-raising Raffles and events will be held this year;
Please support them.
Existing Members, if you want to save money on this year’s fee and by doing
so also help the Club, please read subscription sheet carefully.

WEDNESDAY EVENING CLUB SESSIONS: to start 16th April - Club
balls will be provided.
JUNIOR EVENINGS FOR UNDER 15’S to start Monday 21st April
at 6.00pm/6.45pm and then every Monday (excluding Bank Hols) through to
September.
Contact Bob for details. Mini-Tennis will commence on 12th May,
at 5.05pm for our younger children. All sessions are to be of 45 minutes.
CLOSED TOURNAMENTS:
Men’s and Ladies Singles Competition to start on Sunday 11th May
Finals will be played on Sunday 8th June. Order of play: Ladies Final
1.30pm start - followed by Men’s Final and the Men’s Plate.
Men’s/Ladies/Mixed Doubles Competition to start on Monday 9th June.
Finals for all three events will be on Sunday 13th July. 1.30pm start
Order of play: Ladies; Men’s; Mixed:
Veterans Singles (aged 45 and over at start of event) will start on Sunday
24th Aug. Separate Tournament for Men/Ladies
Final will take place on Sunday 14th Sept. (10.15am start)
Junior Finals Day will be on Saturday 13th September at 9.00am. Two
Tournaments – Improvers & Advanced
Youth Singles Competitions. This tournament - one for Boys and one for
Girls to start Sunday 27th July
Finals to be on Sunday 10th Aug. (10.15am start) This event is open to
those of 15 + but under 18years of age.
o Entry Forms for all events will be available later.
PLAY TENNIS 2008 to promote and encourage Tennis Club Membership at
all ages. Fun Sessions for all ages.
Two dates - Saturday June 2nd & Sunday June 24th Full details later.

Club courts will be made available to non-members of all ages and standards
in an effort to raise Club Membership.
A generous discount is available to new members on their first year’s
membership.
COACHING SESSIONS Single or group coaching available
(Juniors/Youths/Seniors)
MEMBERS LIST This will be compiled and put on display in
caravan. Any Member who wishes not to have their telephone number included
on this list, please inform Secretary on re-joining.
If Members have an e-mail address, please give the Club Secretary that
information, all manner of Club details could then be e-mailed to you. All
e-mail addresses kept in strictest confidence and not given to other Club
Members
GUESTS Members are reminded they are responsible for their
guests’ fee being paid to the Club, they are required to have the necessary
money with them for payment and for insurance purposes must sign their
guests into the Visitors Book before playing.

WIMBLEDON TICKETS The Members Only Ballot will be in May
and only fully paid-up Members will be entered.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS A list giving full details of all
events/times & dates/contacts is available from the Club
Secretary.
CLUB SESSIONS Wednesday evenings from April 16th
– Sept 17th. Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings throughout the year
social tennis is also available to all members. A great way to meet others
and improve your tennis standard, keep fit and have a bit of fun.
Wednesday evening – Youth & Seniors only.
BALL-THROWING MACHINE various times & dates will be advertised
for all members to use this equipment at no cost Just turn up - be
prepared to pick up tennis balls and re-load ball machine!
AMERICAN DOUBLES TOURNAMENT Saturdays 10th May & 19st
July 1.30pm prompt - Tennis balls provided - Entry cost £1.50 Those
wishing to play in this event please book your place early as event will be
limited to 12 persons. Please be prepared, in fairness to all participants,
to stay till the end so as to complete all games
RETURN OF KEYS If you are not re-joining the Tennis
Club please, out of courtesy, return the keys in early April and your key
money will be returned to you.
CUPS/TROPHIES
All Cups, shields etc. won this year must be returned to Club Secretary, for
engraving, by 26th September
